Got my head swap done its a mini me. Non VTEC. Currently a D15B8 block with a PM3-1 D16A6 non vtec SI head and a long geared CX tranny. 200psi compression in all 4 cylinders running stricktly 93 octane for the high compression. Pulls nice through the top of the gears at higher RPMs but lags in the bottom end. Also some clutch slipage when i mash it. Gonna replace the clutch and flywheel, header, and a 50 shot on the bottle. Not gonna swap the tranny because we think its gonna pull through the bottom of the gears better and cmon i can pull 2nd to 85mph if i can set it up right it should be an ok combo on the bottle then with the long gears i will still get good gas mileage off the bottle. What do you guys think ?

Im gonna need more specs on the motor, cuz from what you say, you dont need 93. your only running 9.2:1 compression. B8 block with a a6 head? what pistons and crank rods..stuff like that.
Even with p29 pistons your only at 9.5:1. thats not exactly HIGH.

it has a D15B8 block with Flat top pistons not the round D16 ones a Y8 head gasket with the center taken out and it was decked. We estimated around 10.5 - 11:1

At 9.5:1 it should have 180psi max in each cylinder. It has 200

what pistons. that really helps. whats the CC and compression height? Are they honda pistons?

Yea they are the stock D15 Pistons they are flat top unlike the D16 which are dished. Thats why when you put a D16 head on a D15 block it bumps the compresion.

Yea, your about 10-10.5:1 so 93 would be best. Still for the tranny, the EX/Si would be the best for you.

Yea Y8 head gasket whitch is the thinnest with the center piece removed. with a ported gsr throttle body port to match Z6 inake mani. EX fuel rail and a P28. It has alot more torque than my friends stock Y8 but the clutch slippage sucks.

Why do you have a p28 on a non vtec motor? Its not helping you.

The P05 wouldnt run it not enough fuel and all we has was a P28. I have gotten a P06 just dont have time to plug it in lol.
