- Tue Sep 23, 2008 12:32 am #71071 have put on an intake before..so i got my intake today and i got my throttle body spacer..so i swap out the gasket on the throttle body and put it back on(i didnt put the spacer on) i put my intake on and turn it on and it now idles at 3000..i dont know what happened i checked my lines i even tried adjusting the throttle cable i got nothin...this car has a piece of shit since i got it!!!!!!

- Tue Sep 23, 2008 12:47 am #71076 need to clean you idle air control valve ( i think thats what its called ) its located under the t/b has a hose going into it and coming out from the intake and going back into it, there are 2 lil screws that you will have to take off and then adjust the white cap, in or out, till it idles better

- Tue Sep 23, 2008 2:44 am #71090 You didn't clean off the old gasket and/or tighten down the throttle body correctly and evenly. Or you didn't install the new gasket properly.

- Tue Sep 23, 2008 2:46 am #71092 did you check to see if your throttle plate is closing completely? if not, adjust the throttle cable by giving it a little slack.

- Thu Sep 25, 2008 7:25 am #71439 ok i went through all that and the solution was the gasket..the hole on the gaskets that came with the spacer were way bigger than the oem gasket..that sucked..i hate spacers! ...lol
