o2 sensor
Posted: Mon Sep 29, 2008 6:40 ami looked under my car and i just noticed that i only have one o2 sensor..am i only supposed to have one? i have a a6 block and z6 head..didnt know if this might be causing my sputtering

Posted: Tue Sep 30, 2008 2:41 amOBD1 cars only have 1 O2 sensor. It's not until 96+ that you have a second O2 sensor after the cat.
Bent valves will cause you more serious problems than just idle. What makes you think you have bent valves?! That's scary.

Posted: Tue Sep 30, 2008 6:58 ami have no cel...the guy i bought the car from(he buys broke cars and fixes them and sells them) said the he replaced the gaskets and all that but used all the same parts on the motor..the guy HE bought it from had a turbo and blew it like 3 times and then blew the motor the last time..thats why im wondering if i should just trash this motor and get something else..i dont know the condition of the internals..i could take it apart i guess
Posted: Tue Sep 30, 2008 1:29 pmsounds like a headache... I'd try a basic tune up first (plugs, wires, cap, rotor) At least if you end up having to rebuild, you'll already have all that stuff for your fresh motor.
