high comp d16z6 build

ok i just picked up a d16z6 from a 95 civic si and its in good running condition anmd would like to biuild a high comp daily driver. my plans are

10.5:1 cp forged pistons
stage 1 obx cam
dc tru-time cam gear
stage 2 competition clutch
4-1 headers
cold air intake
2 1/4 stright exhaust pipe
dc sports straight flow can
:D

im also replacing the rod bearings and timing belt w/ tensioner and water pump, while running the stock p28

so i guess my question is what can i do for more compression? i heard that d16a pistons create 11.0:1 C/R and that a y8 head and mani will make more power also, is this true? thanks

The y8 head will raise the compresion up some that is true. With the p29 pistons you will be around 12:1 not 11. You build plans look good except for one fatal flaw. Ditch the OBX cam and get a real cam. Exospeed.com. Check them out. To raise compression more than what you will get with the pistons you can get flat valves and even take a layer out of the head gasket.

You will want :

Skunk2 Intake Manifold
Bigger TB
Injectors
GOOD tune.

REALLY!! DANG thats cool, ight so if i buy OEM d16a6 pistons wich are the p29 pistons and put a y8 head on it i should be around like 12.2:1??? sounds good to me cause i bet those stock p29 pistons are cheaper than the cp racing 10.5:1 c/r pistons that are $500 :thumb: ill do some research let me know of anyother things that can be done :hehe:

hey what do you guys think about a comp cam 105100 i can get that already installed in a complete y8 head for 200$ tell me what you think. oh and the guy says that that cam is a stage 1 and doesnt take any modification to the valve trainb for instal

If your looking for more compresion I would really look in too bigger sleeves instead of getting pistons that cost a lot bigger sleeves is like running a twin cam b18 b18c b16 b16b all have big sleeves for those high comp pistons ....but don't for get you can't run boost

Depends on what ZC motor it is.

NO, you will be alot higher than that. 12.65:1 in fact.

Batting out of left field is this guy!! Bigger sleeves does not mean you have higher compression. Someone needs to do more research.

ok ya i didnt think that bigger sleeves would increase compression. but as of right now im going to put a complete y8 head with stage 1 comp cam in it and p29 pistons in it 8) has anyone ever heard of putting obd1 b16 injecters in y8 im cause someone said use bigger injectors and i couldnt think of any stock D injectors bigger than y8. and pretty much thats my build, a 12.65:1 c/r sounds freakin sick to me :hehe:

also when i put the y8 head on my z6 what headgasket do i use the z6 or y8? or is there a defference??

There is no real difference. They are pretty much the same but get the y8.

From what I remember, the b16a injectors are still 240cc which are the same is the y8. and z6.

F*ck off with the OBX.
I'll just say it once: B-I-S-I-M-O-T-O. Period.

Look at that: a serious cam
