D16z6 head d16y8 block over heating

I first noticed the over heating and the fan was not coming on. So i hard wired the fan to be on when the car comes on. That did not help the car not over heat so i change the thermostat, still no fix. when it over heats the heater is cold then it gets warm and the car cools off i have not let it get over 3/4 of the way to HOT i know that is still to high but it just jumped up real fast. i can let it idle for a long time we where trying to make sure there was no air in the line with the bleader valve and let it run for like 45 min to 1 hour with out it over heating but you drive it.......

If your heater is still blowing cold you still have air in your system.. run it for a little bit with the cap off and bleeder open.. close bleeder when you get a full stream of coolant.(note: A section of clear hose on you bleeder screw will help you save the coolant and eliminate the mess.)

i have let the car idle with the valve open and the cap off. no help any other ideas? thanks for the help so far

def sounds like air... that fan runnin all the time probly isn't lettin the thermostat open till you are drivin. you sure the thermo is opening while its sitting idle?

it needs to get up to operating temp for a while. have someone keep the RPM's at 2000 or so to get the engine hot so the thermostat will open

ok, let me start at the begining, i was punching it down the intertate, and blew my head gasket, but not that bad... and it never over heated... i changed the head gasket and reused the same head bolts, because i bought the wrong ones... after i changed the head gasket, and cleaned the intake manifold, iacvalve, throttle body, and changed all the gaskets... the car idles fine, runs fine and all that... and the heat blew nice and hot... but as soon as i get on it, the air goes cold, and heat rises... i shut the car off everytime it gets to about 3/4 of the way. i changed the thermostat twice, ive done a complete flush with the flush kit and all... ive sat there and bled it for a long time... every diff way someone has told me... ive tryd... theres no leaks any where... and i dont think theres any air... but i guess there could be... ive bled it like it says in this post and also just popping open the bleeder valve every now and then... im stuck...

is there a very light oily colored film on the surface of your coolant?
That usually means a head gasket leak.

even something like not properly torquing the head studs could lead to a leak.

Well I tried all sorts of things then went back to the head gasket and the person that put the gasket back in did it wrong and striped some threads out of the block so. Mabie some heale coils or a new Block.... thanks for the help so far
