Dont know where exactly to post this but here goes. ok i have a 93 eg, with a d16z6. now all was normal, until i clean my throttle body, damn thing was carbonatedblack all inside, so i took it of, used throttle body cleaner and what not got it all cleaned up, made sure everyhting looked good and re installed it. now i didnt disconnect any lines or anyhting just simply the MAP and TPS plugs, throttle cable bracket, and the 4 nuts holding the throttle body in place and pulled it back gently enough so it was off the bolts and clean it like that. vacuums lines all intact. NOWWWW, the damn thing doesnt want to come down from 2000-2500 RPMS. . soooo i took out the map sensor cleaned it and still does the same thing. now before all of this it had an idle of about 1000rpms.
can anyone shine some light on this. as it is very annoying. im probably gonig to buy an IACV see if it fixes the issue.. if not. i will most likely light the engine on fire.. lol... . oh yea my TPS sensor is brand new also..
??

well if you didnt hook up your coolant lines and bleed them then your car wont idle corectly since it also uses coolant to do so....so yea anyhow id hook up your lines everything up ! and bleed your coolant of air then see what happens if it still persists you may have the tps set wrong if you installed it...Are there any check engine lights?

Coolant lines remained on that's the one that is right under the mouth of the throttle body right?, no leaks of coolants or anything. check engine light has been there since i bought the car. it's still on right now.. i noticed the plugs to check the engine codes is like next to the glove box. how exactly can you check the codes ? i read u put a wires or paper clip on both ends of the terminals in the plug? then turn the ignition on and then what happens?.. lol

that sensor is in one of 2 places, don't have my manual here to double check...
1. on the thermostat housing
2. on the cylinder head, left (passenger) side under the distributor.
it is a 2 wire plug

Thanks Teal. ok so i removed and replaced that sensor, check engine light is gone.
Now i have an idle of about 1300 to 1600 rpms.. that came down from about 2200rpms. and that was after i installed the new ECT sensor. and adjusted my tps a bit. Now when i give it some gas while stopped, on the way back down the idle dips to about 900 rpms then goes back up to like 1300?
Now any ideas on how to fix this? LOL. i kno im a pain.. but hey every little bit helps.. Knowledge for future use... LOL..

your car an auto or 5 speed? from the sounds of it, you have an auto, its just down shifting from second to first. thats it, my civic does that too. but i also have a few other little problems not related to my down shifting.
