An ls will be a better motor than any d would be. Boosted or na. They do make good power na and there are cams and intake manifolds and such for them as well. They have the same bore size as a b16 and b18c so the pistons swap over. Also the stock hydro tranny that comes with the ls motor is geared just like a d16z6 tranny. Little different final drive but all together the same. It is also a straight forward swap. You can use your current chassis harness and would just need the ecu to run the motor. As far as the motor goes you can find the swap cheap now. I got my ls swap with a b16a tranny complete for 400 bucks. Don't let all the save the sohc people talk you put of a motor with torque.
