the main reason i dont wanna splice into mine...i want it factory with plugs and clean..

i would like to keep my cx ecu untouched..so i think ill just pay the exta 75.

i think since i decided to buy a hydro tranny im gunna build it through the winter and do every mild part i can before i drop it in next spring.

i have a question now.

1. if i build it with mild parts and all bolt on pretty much except for mild cams. will it be under a decent tune with the chipped ecu? or do i need to trailor it straight to a shop to have it dyno tuned? how much does a dyno tune useally cost?
yes the del sol is obd1 im only gunna use off it wat i need to get overthing running correctly if i use anything at all then ill know wat to order and put my friends back.

2. if i do build it sum in the mean time will it make the start up more difficult cuz there are more varibles with the addition of parts?
these are sum of the things im thinkin about.

hytech header
some kind of mild cam crower or skunk 2 prolly for all motor!
arp headstuds
will i need new pistons and connecting rods?

ill put it this way im lookin for over 200hp when i drop in.
any advice or ideas will be apreciated..
this is like i said my first dohc motor...actually my first vtec motor iv always been cursed with non vtec d series motors. so im rly anxious.

i live in a small town so at my junkyards there are no integras or any hondas for that matter just chevy trucks.

#199698 if your planning to do that, i would just go with a stage one crower cam, the only thing you will have to add is dual springs on your exhaust side, that can be done by gettting another set of intake valve springs, (have seen alot of people do that) if you go stg2 cams or more, you will need springs, retainers, and valves, and they say if you run stainless vlaves you need bronze guides, this cost anywhere in excess of $500 to have done at a machine shop, the say the stainless valves will gaud the stock guides...

* (imo i have seen too many stock valves snap the heads off under the higher seet pressure of aftermakert spirngs to trust them, theres a je piston hanging on a wall in a friends shop to prove this)*


your stock bottom end, should be fine if its in good shape, mileage ect... your stock internals are good to 300whp... so you dont have to have new rods or pistons... and a b16 has a good rod to stroke ratio so rpms dont hurt them as much... the arp head studs are a great idea as well.... if you decide to up your comp later on, fj distribtors makes a great priced kit, :thumb:

if you get that kit, id recomend arp rod bolts and shot peening and re sizing and balancing your rods for a piece of mind, but that can allways be done later on down the road...

the other bolt ons you listed are also goood ideas,
as for the phearable ecu, he will have you list everything you have in your setup, and your ecu will be based map and have a re-burnable chip... a base map is in no way a tune, but it should be good enough to start your car, i have used them before and had no problem... hope this helps :thumb:

#199795 If you're going N/A, don't use the Edlebrock VictorX intake manifold. It will only hurt the response of the engine ultimately. It's amazing on a boosted engine, but Skunk2 makes a much better manifold for N/A.

#199853 thanks guys i dropped my car today i finally got my suspention in hehe...
buttt....while takin off the back shock/struts i snapped the head of a bolt off the one on the bottem fork on the rear driver....its siezed so im drivin on it as of now but in the mornin im gnna go get a bolt and nut and have it tourched off and put back in..

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE MM OF THAT BOLT!!!
i know its a 14mm head.

thanks for the advice on the manifold honestly thats the direction i was gunna go is skunk2 i know they build really good all motor products.
a stage 1 cam is good anough for me :)

im gunna post up pics tmw afternoon of my drop and i mean its dropped!
it looks great tho...

i think i need to make a build thread i did over at clubeg6 but that place is gay now...
