B16, B18, B20

#202181 Heres a little background,
I just bought a 1993 CX hatch with a B16a2 swap and a gsr tranny. for some reason Vtec kicks in at 4500 rpm at WOT and it sounds like the engine is being cut off at 5500 rpm (it kicks and sputters and sounds like its hiting redline) the car has a virgin p28 ecu off of a del sol and the engine is out of a 2000 honda civic si (but im sure you know that already) on another note my CEL is on and reads a code 41, i replaced the o2 sensor with a bosch and it did not fix the code and i read on here that a bosch isnt a hondas favorite so i bought a Denso. i also just bought a stock p30 ecu and i am going to try and install the o2 sensor with the new ecu. my question is... will this fix it? are these problems linked somehow? and i am getting low 30's is that normal mpg's?

update; got in the p30 and it is great! the Vtec kicks in where its supposed to and feels like a B16 should, however i still have the CEL on. it is throwing a code 23 and a code 41 again... i replaced the o2 with the new denso and it hasnt seemed to help it. i have a knock sensor installed on the back of the motor and the wire runs into the loom but i do not know how to check to see if it is functioning.

sorry for the long-winded post and a little rambling just trying to get all the details out.
Thanks!

#203423 b16a2 from a 2000 civic si. that has 2 o2 sensors, on pre cat and post cat. on the 92-95 civics we dont use that 2nd o2 which is why it would give you a CEL it anything. how did you wire it up?. your ECU's obd 1 or 2?. are you using a jumper harness?.

Code 23, Knock , you wont need it in the EG at all. i say save up a lil bit, get ur ECU chipped with Hondata, you'll be able to disable those. since your running an obd2 motor.
