#232267 Can't decide which IAT sensor would be suitable, either drill and tap the throttle body and install it or install one in the induction piping

Application is a B16a OBD2

is there a plus and negative on these sensors or it doesn't matter?

#232285 im thinking you have the obd2 intake manifold. if you have a cold air intake then you can run the obd2 iat in the intake tube. now i bought a skunk2 intake manifold because it already had the obd1 style ita hole already made into the manifold and the add performance with it being a itr replica.

Thanks mate, does the plus and earth matter on sensors or it doesn't?

#232292 That i wouldnt know. Now if you are going to use the iat sensor with the same obd harness then you shouldnt have a problem.
The obd1 iat is a two wire sensor, the obd 2 is a 4 wire sensor.

#232316 if its OBD2 and the application is OBD2 to keep it simple use the obd2 sensor which is the black one. the white IAT sensor on our cars is on the intake manifold. which OBD2 is on the Intake pipe.

Sorry, what I ment is, it's an OBD2 engine runnning on OBD1 system, but I have the intake pipe with the IAT socket, so any sensor will do?

#232549 maybe you should try IAT sensors from partsbin.com or have you been to autoMD? They're kinda new for me but they did great with my vehicles! GoodLuck!

My Harness is OBD1. Too much work to take off the intake manifold and drill/tap it for IAT.

So exteneded the IAT wires, solder and shrink wrapped them and put the IAT on the factory intake piping and used the OBD2 style IAT sensor. Tested it, no codes, works great, looks stock as well.. thanks guys!

if your running the obd1 harness it would be easier to use the OBD1 IAT sensor since it would reach to that spot. thats my opinion.

But it didn't reach to the intake pipe, thats why I had to extend it. It did reach to the intake manifold, but its too much to take off the intake manifold, drill, tap it etc..
