#20331 I'm thinking about buying an oil-thirsty B16A2 longblock, for cheap.
It needs some work, it'll take time, it hurts my gut but I'm patient :D

I really want to go low boost (up to 10psi) on it eventually, so I guess I'm 'stuck' with the original c/r.
Are there any pistons available, that provide me with the same amount of compression, but are stronger than OEM pistons?
All I've seen are low or high compression pistons, wich both are no option.
Also been thinking of new rods, but if they're not needed for low boost, I wont buy them, what's your 2cts ?

Since I want to boost after a while of n/a driving, I was thinking of buying a Skunk2 i/m with a 68mm throttlebody, but would this be overkill on a B16 with only some bolt-ons like an egay header and a WAI?
Also, I want to run 450cc injectors, so I don't like buying the OEM injectors first, and then the 450's.
Can I run the car without boost with 450cc's, or are they just to big to tune to a proper a/f ratio or get the car running smoothly?

About the headgasket, is it wise to use an original Honda one, or is it better to upgrade to something else...
This also goes for the headstuds -> replace them with ARP, or keep the OEM ones?

The head is good, but I'll be replacing the valve seals, so no work on that (just cleaning, and maybe some portmatching).

Any forged aftermarket set will do better than stock, JE or SRP aren't too expensive.

Not too sure on this... If you have the money, I'd shop around for a set of Eagle H-beam rods, or maybe just pick up a set of used LS rods and have them shot peened?

If you can get a good deal on a used one it would be worth it

The 450cc's will be too much on a stock motor. Maybe you can find someone who upgraded to a bigger set of injectors and is selling their stock ones for cheap. Not sure about the B series, but stock D series injectors sell for about $50.

I'd do an OEM HG and ARP head studs. You'll need the headstuds later on, so you might as well get them now instead of OEM headbolts that you'll only use for a little while

#25623 LS rods wont work in the B16a. Its got a short deck hieght then all other B series motors. Just grab a set of eagle rods. As for pistons, you can look at the RS Machine pistons, but they wont really be stronger than stock. They are a pretty much stock replacement. If you want stronger you will have to go with forged.

You might want to go ahead and get the arp headstuds, since you will want to get them later and reusing old headstuds isnt the best of ideas.

i heard of ppl actually using ls rods in a b16... dunno how they did it... :?

#25764 i wouldnt think it would really work out. The stroke on each motor is alot different. 77mm on the B16a and 89mm on the LS. Rod length is different.

#25772 don't base your goals on PSi. base on HP goals. it helps dramatically what you need to do to the engine. 10psi on a T25 is nowhere the same as 10psi on a GT30R turbo.

Stock B16As can run fairly amount of power before the pistons and rods start to give. You can probably get away with 250whp-270whp without any building and a conservative tune.

Lower compression just means you have to raise the boost to get the equivalent TOTAL compression in the cylinder. You can hold more psi in the cylinder because the cylinder will have less compression to begin with.

Forged Pistons, eagle rods are the best bet with an ARP headstud kit. You are set for a good 300whp potential motor without much effort.

its ls rods used on D16s but at that point, the money to shave this and that, you are better off running aftermarket rods.
