- Mon Jan 19, 2009 6:20 am #90045 i have a b18ci and one of the bolts that holds the valve cover spins freely and moves up and down but wont come out all the way,its the bolt by the cam seal in the front, i am puting a new blox cam seal in [weatherpermitted] i was just wondering if this was normal,and how to fix it whan i take the valve cover off

- Mon Jan 19, 2009 2:44 pm #90088 its not the bolt though ,if i use vise grips and put tension on it i can get the bolt out,the thing it bolts into moves,when i do my cam seal ill post some pics.

I think this is normal. My D series Valve Cover bolts do the same, as well as Every other Honda Valve Cover bolt that I have worked with.

bolts shouldn't spin freely.

- Wed Jan 21, 2009 11:14 pm #91292 took my valve cover off today its the cam keeper ,where the bolt threads in is broke,so now i have to wait longer to drive my car.ill post pics when i get a chance

I totally misread what they said. I thought they were commenting that they bolts stay in the valve cover and dont come out.

Thats Major leakage right there. Holy snap.
