#139840 My build is essentially on hold right now. I got two tickets not too long ago and I'm recovering from them financially right now. Thank God for living with mom and dad! Only thing is I might get 35hrs one week, and 14hrs the next...wild changes from paycheck to paycheck.

I picked up my pistons, still can't find my camera, and my brother won't take pics with his. Douche bag. Anyways, the pistons are friggin' sexy as hell. The shaping on the dome is absolutely perfect and smooth.

I need to get a one of those ring gap wheels and money to sleeve and bore the block.

I have some predicted expenses coming up here in a month or so. I might have to sell the pistons if I don't have the money by then. I paid $550 and change for them, hopefully I can get $400 for them if I do have to sell.

Pretty soon here I will be buying some Crower rods.

#144693 sorry to burst your but unles you get massive cams your not going to make 250 with a 12 compression honda n/a motor
at 12.3:1 or whatever u said it was your not that far away from

compare the k series motors to B.

w/ more tune + almost the same compression that ur pumpin, their bearly doing like 190 to the wheels and thats with like 11.5:1..

and sorry if im late on the thread. but u wont hit 250

also your wasting your money by sleeving it. honda block is good for 12
compression easy.

but best of luck to you tho, my buddy jake tell call em "jakespec" has a 86 x 89 2.1 litre around 16:1 was the highest hes had it i think.. and that shit did like 278 whp...

and THATS HIGH COMP....

but the best of luck to you sir.. i hope im wrong cuz that would be sweet.. just my 2 cents from past expirences

#144696 why not a better fuel rail? it sounds like ur gonna be pushing a shitload into ur chambers. it will help with cooler fuel temps. nd doesnt cooler fuel mean better atomization?

#144955 I'll be closer to 12.7:1-12.8:1.

I'm looking at the TODA VTEC Killer cams and the Rocket Motorsports

TODA's cams are 12.5mm lift or roughly .500in.

Rocket's cams are 12.7mm lift or just over .500in.

The ENDYN Bumpstix run .481" IN and .458" EX. (I have a buddy running these cams at 242whp, NA, 12:1, 2.36" exhaust).

If that guy is pushing 242whp with less lift, means he's got some serious tuning going on. He has dialed out all but a few degrees of overlap, ramped up his timing from 24* to 17*, running on 100octane Aviation fuel, and the best part: 84x89.

I'm sleeving my block because I don't want my cylinders to walk. I'm not concerned about the cylinder's cracking, especially since it will be sleeved.

K and B are two VERY different beasts. 86x86 (K20), better combustion chamber design, better piston domes... I'd love to get a K and build that. 250whp NA would be easy (comparatively) out of a K20 or a K24/20 Frankenstein.

As far as the fuel rail goes, the stock rail is good for up to 500whp. So is the filter. So is the pressure regulator. Only thing I would need is the Walbro 255lph for fuel delivery and 550cc/min injectors to do the spraying.

#153371 Engine build on hold until further notice. Insufficient funds for said build. Damnit...

Instead, check out my 1997 DC4 here:

#153439 My Spec B cams have that 12.5mm lift as well.

242whp out of a b20/vtec isnt that hard anymore.

#153491 I know it's not hard, it's just not common for an LS/VTEC or B20/VTEC to hit 250whp NA. I met a guy a while back who was running a GSR pushing 255whp NA. Being a GSR, it's got a slightly shorter deck height than the LS block so it nets a little higher CR than the LS with the same pistons. If he can push 255whp NA, I can hit 250whp NA. It's more of a personal milestone than anyhing else.

#153569 GSR has a taller Deck height. Being that it is 212.39mm and the LS/B20 is 211.84mm

#153886 You're right, my bad. I misread. Or maybe I was slightly intoxicated...

#153893 that is usually the main reason. Its a good one though.

#153896 Of course it's a good one! I'm on my way there now!
