ok im not really a b-series guy so this might be a stupid question but here it goes.

me and my buddy are rebuilding his b16a3 and i was pondering some ideas while at work today...

is it possible to take a b18c1 crank and connecting rods and put the b16 pistons on it and install them into the b16 therefor in theory making a stroker??

like i said it may be a stupid question but im a sohc vtec guy :woot:

let me know tho thanks

Top of the piston will come 0.325 in above the deck of your block.

B Series Compression calc

so in other words it cant happen?

what if you used the b16 crank and the b18c rods with the b16 pistons?

the compression calc i linked to said .132 in above the hole. You might be able to do it if you put 3-4 head gaskets on. I wouldn't recommend it in the least.

Play with the calc. It shows what oem parts give what compression and deck height(which if its negitive the pistion is above the hole. for exmaple .132 above the hole shoes as -0.132)

you can put the gsr rods and pistons into the B16a, you will just have to get custom pistons with a short compression hieght. There is a company out there that does this with LS parts.

You'd have to get a piston with a compression height of 29.2mm and a piston dish of -9.92cc (same dish, but shorter than the B20B pistons) to get down to 13:1 using the B18C1 crank and even B16A3 rods. Even still, you'd be running with your pistons slapping the head.

IMO, too much money in pistons and rods to get a B18C1 crank in there.

Something about the super tiny deck height of the B16A3 that screams "I WANT HIGHER COMPRESSION PISTONS!!!"
