- Mon Aug 24, 2009 5:30 am #139475 first off im new to the board so what up everyone- im right outside austin texas and from jersey originally , the army stationed me here so whatever but the question is ..... JDM b16 block with a JDM gsr head - the tps gone bad - wich one do i need a b16's or a gsr's and with um being JDM how hard would they be to find .

- Mon Aug 24, 2009 5:47 am #139478 Hey man, I'm from Burnet Texas, about sixty miles north of you! What's up? I think any B16/b18 TPS should work for you. I'm not too sure though. let someone verify that info. if you need a part, I can try and get it for you. My buddys can get pretty much anything you need.


The TPS is held on by two "security screws" that you need to take a hand held hacksaw to the back of. once you cut a groove into the two screws, you can use a flathead to remove/adjust the new TPS.

what you do is get a voltmeter and ground the ground probe to the neg side of the battery and then the middle wire on the tps stick a saftey pin in it and then use the power probe and touch the safety pin.. but with the KEY ON ENIGNE OFF(with ur dash lights are on)
you should read .5v and then then open the throttle to wide open throttle and you should read 4.4-4.5v but anything higher then 5v ur tps is bad or anything less then .5v its bad

but ya the tps is a pain in the ass to get off

And thats a big NO on the vtecnicians. I've heard some really fucked up things that they do. My friends have had some deals go south with them. Let my friend fix the TPS. He's good. He's had over 30 honda's in his life, and he's only 23. haha.

I've never had much of anything worth stealing, except for my JDM SiR cluster. lol, so attending them is never a problem for me, it's just no one will go with me. haha. I'll see if I can set some stuff up for you, introduce you to my buddy and get your TPS worked out.

And yea man I'm not trying to get anything stolen you know i work to hard for my stuff.... how bout the track ? i see window paint around pot but its all on slow cars people think are fast cause they have decals haha - since your friend does the work theres a few things he can help me with ..... anyways email me man car4natic1@yahoo.com

He said he's not going to charge a whole hell of alot for just swapping out a TPS, so you should be good. We're planning on getting some meat together for the grill sometime later this week, you want to meet up and hang out?

- Wed Aug 26, 2009 3:25 am #139833 WELL i was on the hunt to start over . i found a super clean , coupe of course with a swap all done right , not that mine isnt it's just this one is clean and its a heads up trade its what i always looked for in a civic . bone stock besdies the swap .... and i could make a little cash considering how hard my car pulls ...haha i feel its a great deal for me - i have a year before i deploy and i need a newproject to stay busy and i HATE gettin or doing swaps if its clean and done right im not against new things.. call me wierd thanks on that tps . hey if he does work i also do but hes got the tools and location im in no way against throwin up cash or some brew or both .... i just love this honda shit. haha
