have a 99 Civic Si, stock except for the intake/exhaust/headers

Driving last night in 5th gear and all of a sudden big back fire and the car dies.

Pull over, car cranks over but won't start, its getting fuel but won't start

Checked all fuses but still nothing. Finally took the dizzy cap off and the rotor is in peaces! Replaced that and now that car still wont start.

Took one of the spark plugs out and there was a crap load of oil on it.


Suggestions ? (Also car is not throwing any codes, Even used a OBD2 scanner and nothing comes up)

headgasket, rings or valve stem seals

do a compression test

^ what he said, also, the timing belt could of snapped causing all of this

Replaced the coil, rotor, and cap on the distributor and car is running like a champ again.
