- Sat Mar 06, 2010 5:18 am #179481 hi civic_EG im running a gsr block with a b16 head in my hatch right now and its running perfect but the compression is low on that setup and im NOT going to run turbo i have a set of pr3 pistons from a b16 laying around. the bore is the same so wanted to throw those piston on my factory gsr rods and run them i know it will bump my compression to around 11.2:1 which is about type r compression which is nice. if anyone has any input on that setup it would be helpful.

It will be higher CR than the US or JDM itr motors as well.

- Mon Mar 08, 2010 1:34 pm #179843 itll run great... i have a stock poormans r in my car now... wich cams you running? id recomend the gsr cams if you dont wana go itr or if you can get them for cheap... they seem to pull good with the b16 head, thats what im running...

- Mon Mar 08, 2010 2:38 pm #179864 yeah i think it helpd mine alot, i can jus get it rite at 5k and punch it and it blasts the tires off of it lol. thats even with LS gears, it hit way harder with gsr gears when it was in my other hatch lol

- Mon Mar 08, 2010 2:58 pm #179870 yeah i had a chipped p28 but i still say the stock gsr ecu pulled the hardest... i had a bone stck gsr bottom end, mild ported b16 head, gsr cams, gsr trans, stg 1 clutch, stock intake mani fuel rail and inj. and a dc 4to1 type r replica header. and like i said i got it a 5k rite when vtec came in and i could punch it and itd just break the tires loose and vtec came in wayyy hard itd hold a decent spin for a little in 2nd.... that was in a full trim dx hatch great street combo... i couldnt imagine how itd feel with more compression... with that setup in my car i pulled on a dyno tuned d16z6 on like 9 psi in a ek hatch... the boy had like 200whp i got him frm 1st gear roll by like 2.5 cars and he got me from a dig as i just spun and he couldnt pass me frm a 2nd gear roll... i loved it
