hey guy , my vti civic sounds like a scooby wrx , have checked the sparce plugs and HT lead and there all ok, the car runs perfecty tho , there's NO flat spots when i put my foot down Vtec kicks in fine , no running problem ,the car as been remapped n chipped ECU could have any thing to do with it ? cheers tom

one way to find out if its the ECU, swap a stock one in and see what happens

is your car stock? if not whats mods have you done.

if you have checked to make sure that all the connections on the leads are good, and there isnt a crack in the distributor cap and the rotor is fine, you may have water going into one of the cylinder, so to find out what one it is you start the car and start pulling leads. Possible things that are broken if thats the case... Intake gasket, intake itself where that water jacket is, head gasket....

to be honist dont whats been done to the car i brough it like it , my and a few mate reckon that it has been cammed up , and the rocker cover is RED not the standed black , i asked the bloke who i brough it from said he hasnt paint it , the car does not over heat , and doesnt lose water

rite with just been out to the car , ive checked all the dizzy cap rota and the ht leads are theres no damage

My car did this same thing. It was low on compression in one cylinder. by low, i mean dead.

it went fine , none of the cyclinders has not lost compresstion
