B16 or b18a

in the fiture i was planing on buying a vtec motor would a b16a be a big upgrade from a b18a1. or should i just save money and get a gsr iam not doing lsvtec i hate them

Just get the B16 or better yet a GSR trans (better for daily driving). A b16 engine isn't going to be much of an improvement over B18. I wouldn't get a B18C either. For $3000-$3500 for the GSR motor, you could turbo and cam the LS, spank the GSR, and have money left over.
I also hate LS/VTEC.

well i am able to get a jdm gsr for 1400 just the motors a have a p72 and i was just going to use my ls trans

that retarted to use an ls trans on a gsr. gsr tranny on gsr is win. not ls trans on gsr. better is gsr trans on a ls. your gears will be higher and you wont get the full function of the gsr with ls tranny

Your money would be better spent on getting a GSR Transmission and a Turbo Kit for your LS. You will have money left over to get a really good tune done. When your all said and done you will have a really fast Car that will stomp GSR Swaps.
VTEC is Overrated. Why wait for your Power? Theres no need to rev to 8k if you start getting your power @ 2k and rev to 6k.
BTW: An LS w/ a Gsr transmission will be quicker then a GSR w/ an LS transmission.

man i have a b16a motor and trans with lsd in my eg and its ok sux on the freeway way to short gears i would get the gsr trans i had an integra with a b16a and gsr trans and i kill 06 and up civic si all day

Yeah I have a 97 GSR, the tranny went bad on me plus I was wanting LSD, so I got a Type R trans. Same gearing as the B16. 70mph on the freeway is 4000 RPM... I knew it was going to be high but goddamn! Anyway I never drive this car on the freeway. I only use it to get to school and work and we use my wife's car for everything else.
I plan to pull 4th and 5th from my GSR trans and swap them in. I might try to source an LS 5th instead depending on the cost. I think a Type 1, 2, 3, GSR 4, LS or GSR 5th would be the ideal trans. There may be a write-up in the future.

the jdm 98+ spec itr trannys are B16a 1, 2 and 3 with gsr 4 and 5. They just have a final of 4.785.
