#186627 alright so i have my new B18 engine and B16 head.
i new it wasnt going to be as striaght foward as a mini me swap.

i kind of know whats involved but not really.
i know i need tha oil feed thing. i just dont know why or where.
feeds oil to the top of the head or something.

ive been looking at the kits you get to do the swap.
comes with the lines, fittings, sometimes the gasket and stuff.

problem is i dont want an off the self made in china one.
Is there anywhere i can buy the kit online that will hold its reputation?

#186630 well most people use a sandwich plate for you oil feed supply... but some tap into where the oil pressure switch is on the back of the bock, and tee it with a 1/8th in pipe T

then you take an 1/8th in pipe teap and tap the oil feed hole on the bottom side of the head and insert a pipe plug (make sure you use a sealer on the plug), and revmove the pipe plug out of the back of the head, above the intake mani its a lager allen head pipe plug...

then route said sandwich plate or T, wich ever you chose, to where you took the big plug out of....

as far as your plumbing thats really all there is to it

id recomend for the sandwich plate route the Golden Eagle LSVtec kit is the best imo

for the T method id recomend the Full-Race.com kit but if you know pipe fitting and a/n fittings this way can be made very easily! :thumb:

as far as engine internals and upgrades (most recomend an ITR oil pump) and dependability and shit like that im not going to sit here and bash a lsv, some people like them and some dont... thats your choice friend... ive done stock LSV's and had good luck, my bottom ends had low miles... but i never really kept them long as i could never make up my mind as what to do... i will say my poormans r ran better than my lsv tho...

#186634 the poor mans type R is a Gsr bottom end with a b16 head ina nutshell...

my poor mans R is a stock c1 bottom end with a mild pnp B16 head and usdm Gsr cams.... stock b16 intake mani and everything,
i only say that it pulls harder then my lsv, because first off it dose and second off i pulled that head directly off of my 1st lsv and put it right onto that gsr bottom end...

my lsv fell off at about 7500 to7800max with that b16 head and gsr cams, my poor mans r just burrys the tach to like 8500 and feel like it pulls the whole way

#186637 honestly the best thing i found was the HONDA builders handbook vol. 1 you can find it on ebay, it has a really really good how to! ive seen good b20v write ups on HT tho, im not a member there but google it and see what comes up :thumb: the b20v is basicly the same other than you use the b20 head gasket instead of a ls gasket :thumb:
