Individual trottle bodies!!

So there's individual throttle bodies for B16a,

jus like toyota's 4AGE 20valve

have you ever heard a 20valve at hi revs, its such a sweet sound,
my question is these trottles are thay only limited to N/A builds or can you also turbo with these trottles.
and whats the sort of HP does these put out compare to cold air intake systems.

yeah ITBs sound killer on hondas! :thumb:

you can do N/A or Turbo (but with turbo alot more fabrications to get them to work)

they will out perform CAI easy, just with ITBs you need high compression an all the other supporting mods(head work, cams, fuel, exhaust etc) to get any use out of them

oh an also a BIG PAIN IN THE ASS TO TUNE!

you can turbo but it somewhat defeats the purpose of ITB's since you're forcing air in.

yeah i guess its more for the competitive people not daily drivers like us wel at least me.lol...but it sure looks damn beastly on the motor.

you can daily drive with ITBs I drove mine for a year with them on an only had to make sure you clean out the throttle bodies often an change your oil more frequent.


whats the specs on your motor?

I have seen people run them on stock motor an see some gains

I had a 20v 4AGE silvertop in an old Corolla before I switched over to Honda.

That blacktop in the pic is missing the box that surrounds the throttle bodies. That box is connected to an intake pipe which has a MAF sensor and an air filter.

That's the problem with ITB's on a daily driver. No air filter. You're constantly sucking in microscopic particles and ruining your piston rings. Changing your oil more frequently isn't going to help. But if you're only going to drive it for a year or two, who cares?

MAP sensors don't work very well with ITB's. You need a vacuum chamber to dampen the vacuum pulses. MAF works better but you need to funnel the air through an intake pipe.

You definitely need a standalone EMS to run them. Nothing suits ITB's better than TPS based fuel maps with load correction.
