#199238 i know hat iv seen a few write up tryin to awnser my question but non specificly so i come to you guys for a reason!.

i just bought a 91 hatchback with a b16a swap in it the tranny is fkned it wont go into gear...anyways.

wat all do i need to make the swap into my 92 civic cx?
like i said i have the whle car so alot of my problems are solved but not all... i know i need a b-series hydro tranny.
my question is

1. will that ecu work with mine? (and where is the ecu in a 91?)
2.will i need new shifting linages?
3. will i need a cx-bseries harness from rywire?
4 will the hasport mounts on the 91 work for my 92?
5.will i need new axles or will those work?

and anything i havent thought of plz enlighten me im doin the swap in 1 mnth!

#199244 Was the 91 converted to OBD1? Is the engine OBD1?

The ECU is under the front passenger side carpet.

if you dont see an adapter harness going from the ecu to your factory chassis harness its not been converted, youll need a ecu, jdm p30 or usdm p30 92-95, or a chipped p28 as a last resort,

you will need 94-01 integra linkage or some aftermarket kind like hasport for an eg

your best be would be to find an 92-95 civic ex harness and lengthen any wires to fit your engine and also ad the 4wire o2 sensor wires into your cx chassis harness, and the vtec wires

your hasport mounts are for an ef, 100% WILL NOT work in any eg, you will need 94to01 integra mounts or 92-95 civic mounts, and you will need the post mount that bolts to the block, if you get a 3 bolt one you will need teg mounts, if you get a 2 bolt one use the eg mounts

the axles should work, the differences is in the half shafts, if you get a hydro trans you will need a 94+ integra half shaft and left side axle, thats refered to as the "male" style half shaft, the one you have now is the "female style" hope this is some help :thumb:

*something else you will need is an obd1 b series vtec distributor, one for a 94-95 gsr will work, there all the same bolt pattern*

http://www.innovativemounts.com/Product ... ode=B19550 <- 2bolt post mount

http://www.innovativemounts.com/Product ... ode=B10150 <- 3 bolt post mount

http://hasport.com/store/index.php/acce ... blink.html <- shift linkage

http://phearable.net <- try him for a chipped ecu if you go that route (he dose a 2step, check engine shift light and speed limiter removed)

#199498 ok finally someone with awnsers..

1. ok im glad i got the confusion about the ef mounts..
WHICH ARE GUNNA BE UP FOR SALE NOW..
so do i have a option on whether i get 2 or 3 bolt mounts? or is it which one my car has currently?
i DD my cx atm so i need to knock the swap out when i do it like it can only be down for a weekend..
so i have my stock mounts?

2.i will prolly end up gettin the linkages from hasport..
im kinda on a tight budget but those are resonable..

3.so if i stay with a cable tranny and get the hasport cable to hydro converstion..i can use the axles off my ef?
i have noticed when u order the kit it does not come with everything...
can anyone link me to a page that is the full enchilada!
( im running in circles now)

4.i have acess to a del sol vtec car with everything running...its my friends but he just got his 3rd dwi so its not gunna be goin anywhere...
CAN I USE THE DISTRIBUTER OFF THAT?

5. will i need his radiator hoses?

6.you said my best best would be to find a ex harness and lengthen them...why not spend 85 and get the kit from rywire.com?
or is that not wat i need?

THANK U OR ALL UR HELP SO FAR IM GUNNA GO AHEAD AND POST SOME PICS FOR FURTHER GUIDENCE.

1) If you have the 2 bolt driver side mount use the eg mount. if you have the 3 bolt get a 94-01 integra mount.

2) Cool

3) Hydro to Cable Converters suck ass. I have never seen one that was nice. It will be an on off switch and have a weird release pistion, you will have tons of dead clutch pedel. Also daily driving on one of these will make life miserable as you cant easily slip your clutch to stat rolling.

I would HIGHLY Recommend a Hydro Transmission. Having to wait a month to get a hydro tranny would be better then daily driving your cable/hydro converted tranny and hating the daily drive for a month. I cant recommend going hydro enough.

If you reuse your cable tranny you can reuse your axles, if you go hydro you will need 94-01 Integra , or 94-97 Delsol Vtec or 99-00 EM1 Civic Si Axles All are the same, get whichever is the cheapist. I Personally use 99-00 EM1 Axles in my B20 Delsol.

The rear T Bracket will need to be from a 92-95 SiR(b Series EG) or 94-01 Integra They are different from the D Series by a great deal.

4) Its always best not to have to tap into anouhter car to get running. I have read online that you can use a d15b7 non-vtec dizzy on a b Series swap. However it didn't work for my b20 so I'm not 100 % sure on that. I personally took the electronics out of the d15b7 dizzy out and put them into my b20 dizzy case and reused my b20 center shaft. My b20 delsol runs just fine with this dizzy.

5) You will probally need a longer top radiator hose as the b16 top radiator spot is farther back then your current d series. The other hoses should work just fine.

I'm sure you can extend yours or get anouther one from autozone.

6) You could get one from rywire. or you get a 92-95 ex harness from a junkyard for cheap, also pick up o2 sensor wiring both sides of the plug(Used to make an extension plug for your o2 sensor, its in the back now, not in the front) everything else on the 92-95 harness will fit. If you have a knock sensor(most b16's do) that will need to be wired in or have a ECU chipped to not need it.

#199512 1. ok i checked i have a 2 bolt goin on the drivers side...

2. yea i rly know that i need to stay with a hydro i guess i wont be swappin as fast as i thought..lol

3. wat is a t bracket?

4. i have a d15b7 in my car so i cant use the dizzy out of it..
ill use the one from the del sol if i have to.. if itll work?

5. i cant find it atm but i looked on rywire.com and he made a cx-b-series harness including vtec siloniod knock sensor 1wire-4wire o2 sensor and something else for 85.00

6. on that phearable website do i need a chipped obd-1 vtec ecu?

Looks like this, its what connects the back of the engine to the top of the steering rack so it doesn't move back and forth under accerlation/deceleration

4)
delsol vtec dizzy should work yes

5)
the Rywire harness should work. Pretty sure its only engine bay side so if your hatch isn't a 92 you will still have to run vtec wiring to the ecu.

6)your equipment is obd0. you will need an obd1 ecu.

#199521 wats up with all that plug splicin they did?

#199578 Just swap the B16A into your EG...that harness is so beyond fucked from what I can tell in the pictures. It wouldn't be worth your time to fix the harness in the EF, much less replace it with one that is directly compatible.

#199590 yea.. from wat info i got..i need about 1000$ to do the swap actually alittle over..

#199691 the t bracket is a good point, you need the t bracket from a 94-01 integra, and no the distributor wont work from a b7 i have never tried but i dont think it will, you need a obd1 b series vtec distributor...

and if you order the ecu from phearable you can either pay 175 and get one he chipps or send in your cx ecu and get it converted and chipped for like 100 or so

and as long as the del sol is obd1 it will work, if its obd 2 you will need an adaptor

http://www.jegs.com/i/MSD+Ignition/121/8864/10002/-1

and for your radiator hoses, id get the lower one for a 96 integra and the upper for a 96 delsol vtec

and i have never gotten a ry wire harness, ive allways make my own or converted ones to work so i cannot comment on them....
