#201033 Sorry this is going to be a bit of a story/rant but please stay with me just thought I would provide as much info as i can, I do also hate bothering folk for help but my car is really starting to annoy me and the way things are with work, where I now live and it lack of anywhere to work on the car properly etc, I'm almost contemplating breaking it, scrapping the shell and just buying a little run about to do me for the next few years. Anyway on to my problems, so about a month ago I replaced the stem seals as it was burning a bit of oil in vtec, the old seals were rock solid so they were needing done. Have driven about a 800 miles since doing them with no problem but just the other week whilst cruising down the motorway after about 100 miles it start to misfire really quite quickly and lost most of its go. The only time I have been in a car doing this the injector seals had gone on it, but it would do it all the time where as this cleared by the time I had pulled over to have a look at it. Although it did do it again another twice over the next 150 miles on my journey home but kept clearing after a couple of seconds.

Plugs leads, dizzy rotor and cap were all less than 2 years old, but had thought it was about time I changed my plugs anyway so ordered some up. When I took the old ones out when I was doing the stem seals they were pretty decent, but when I took them out this time only a month later plugs 1 and 4 had quite a build up on them, but seemed more like carbon than if they were burning oil to me. So I now have new plugs in it and it has not misfired yet, but then it only misfired for a mile if that in total out of a 255 mile journey and hasn't done anywhere near that since the new plugs have been put in but it still doesn't feel great, I wouldn't say rough but just not as sweet as it has felt in the past. So I don't know what could be up now, when I had the distributor off for doing the stem seals I just marked it off for refitting it as I do not have a timing gun but have been tempted to buy one if people think I might be the problem. I also though maybe the O2 sensor could be clogged as it had been burning a little bit of oil but it was brand new 2 and a bit years ago. So don't know if anyone has any ideas about what it could be?

On to the next problem when the engine is warm and I put the clutch and let the engine idle, it hangs at around 1500rpm for about 2 seconds before it drops down to more like 800 which I'm sure it never use to do. Also this is going off the tacho so I know these numbers are only there or there abouts, also sometimes whilst dropping it may blip up a little at about 1000 mark before it then continues to drop to 800. Cleaned out both but IACV and FITV and tightened the bulb in the FITV about a year ago. So yet again any ideas on this?

And finally when I first start the car I get a weird ticking noise, but its random, like tick, tick, ......., tick, tick..., tick, sometimes goes away after only a few ticks some times takes a little longer and for the life of me I can find out there it is coming from.

So any help on any of these problems would be greatly appreciated, would love to get it sorted before I give up on it.
