- Mon Oct 11, 2010 6:25 pm #217898 you can leave the head on to replace them, you will however need to compress the cylinders with air to keep the valves from falling in.

And valve stems sound like the first thing i would try

Maybe you should try a compression/leak down test prior or after the replacement just to be sure!

basically ALL B and D series Vtec motors burn oil at high rpm's.. not sure about newer ones.




noticing puffs out the back = normal.

leaving a smoke screen behind you = probably the valve seals.

Normally if you can see a cloud or film left behind that's to much, a small buff as said would be semi acceptable ... i say semi cause i don't like it lol
