I'd just like to know peoples thoughts on these two. From what I can see they're pretty much the same. One of them will be going into my 95 hatch over the next couple months. :woot:
As of now i'm leaning towards the JDM b18c because I've found a complete swap kit and friends have been telling me they would recommend that.

anyways. thoughts? recommendations? thanks.

JDM has 11:1 CR and USDM has 10.6:1 CR. That is the only difference.

Oh yeh. I saw that. but does that make much performance difference?

approx 10hp. the USDM powerband stops at 7800 RPMS, the JDM goes all the way to 8100 RPM. Torque curves are exactly the same.

IMO I would just look at whichever is cheaper for you to get. Not enough of a REAL difference to say that one is better than the other.

Never heard of that company. Here is the Type R from hmotorsonline.com :

sunrise:

jspec:

jdmsource:

Jdm type-r will only be stamped B18C, you will have to look at the intake manifold, valve cover, or if the company says its a ITR, Spec R, Type R, etc...

The 98+ JDM ITR motor has one of the best trannys. B16a 1st- 3rd with the GSR 4th and 5th and a 4.7 final drive all together with a LSD stock. No other ITR got that tranny that I know of. I know the USDM ones didnt get it.
