Oil Pump

whats the max rev limit a stock B16a oil pump can handle?

same as a GSR and Type r pump.. Same part number..

so if i build an engine that revs higher than the stock limit will the pump be ok
i was told it wouldn't be able

A New oem Honda stock b series vtec oil pump will take most anything you can throw at it , the only oil pump problem I've heard of is stroker engines 90mm+ stroke breaking oil pump gears and that's because of increased harmonics . If in doubt Unorthodox racing makes bullet oil pump gears you can invest in them

Exactly how high do you plan on revving the engine? Will it hold those RPM's for an extended period of time?

If you're building a road race engine, then you might wanna look into a Accusump oiling system (or something like it)

Never heard of Unorthodox making such a part... I just browsed their site and theres nothing on it about oil pump gears. I know Endyn modifies OEM pumps to hanlde the abuse he's talking about and Prodrive make/made gears for B series pumps.

This is the book my information came from, its in there but the page 183 is restricted . They made them in the mid 90's they may not now though :?
