Oil pressure switch wire
Posted: Wed Apr 25, 2012 2:47 amOKay i just picked up a swapped 4 door with a b18c1. and im missing my vtec oil pressure switch. can anyone tell me where i can get a new wire set up and tell me how to hook it up.

Looks like you will need to tap into D6
I'd look on ebay or junkyard or classifieds for the vtec oil pressure switch.

Posted: Wed Apr 25, 2012 3:11 pmsee ive been looking everywhere for the wire set up and i literally can not find it anywhere every integra i find doesnt have vtec and idk if the oil pressure switch from a d16 will work or not might have to try it all i have been able to find from any sight are these these

I simply ran my own wires and connected them to the sensor using small spade connectors The only difference is that you will have to run them thru the firewall to the ECU because only the 1992 hatchbacks had the vtec wiring going into the engine bay (for non-vtec models)

What gauge wire do u recomend??

Posted: Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:07 pmI'd get something close to stock. I'm not sure what gauge that is... I think I used 16 gauge.

Posted: Wed Apr 25, 2012 7:28 pmAny ground will do... the closest common ground is probably the one by the thermostat housing. It will have like 6 or so mostly black wires on it.

Posted: Thu Apr 26, 2012 3:25 amStock gauge is 18 on 95% of all wiring in the car. Erring on the thicker side (16) wont hurt anything.

Low oil pressure will cause vtec to not engage.

Posted: Thu Jul 05, 2012 4:49 pmYeah i found out the my oil pressure switch got cut? not sure how it got cut but it did. can that cause any damage to my motor? and is it normal for it to kick in 1st and 2nd but not third??
