B16a2 vs B16a3?

I've heard of a lot of swaps into eg chassis with b16a2, why not b16a3s? I want a b16 swap in the future but I have to plan accordingly bc of the all the strict emission laws here, would it be smarter to use the obd1 b16a3 that way I wouldn't have a to use a jumper for the b16a2? I even heard cars cannot be bard with jumpers for ecus. And I don't think there's a huge difference between the 2 engines besides the obd difference.

the only difference is the obd, unless you get a jdm b16a then you will have a bump in compression usdm 10:2 jdm 10:4 compression. usdm160hp jdm 170hp. you dont need a jumper unless you are going to use a obd1 ecu on a obd2 car

I don't need a jumper for an obd2 ecu to odb1 car then? I think it'd be less work to drop in the b16a3 since it's already obd1

i dont even think they make a jumper for a obd2 ecu for a obd1 car. but yes it would be less work to drop an obd1 motor in a obd1 eg.

skip a b16 and get a b18c or b20

People say the del sol vtec engines are kinda weak, idk why? Maybe it has to do with the cams, or intake manifold.

I put an A3 in my coupe, motor dyno'd at 150.xx to the wheels and only had a vibrant header and a skunk2 pro manifold, otherwise it was internally stock.

That's not bad considering the a3 is rated at 160 bhp

I found one but way too many miles but was thinking as long as I get it bard in my car, if it ever breaks I'll have no problem getting a jdm one in my car legally with the bar sticker, and would I be able to use the A.C. from my z6 or would I had to swap that out for the b16 one?

Do some research. You're asking questions that have been answered.

You can use the z6 comprssor as long you use the del sol bracket.

i have a US B16A2 in my EG hatch. it pulls on LS/V swaps all day long and loves to be revved out. the b16 is the under dog and has hella potential.
