If I do a b18b1 swap will I have to do any extra wiring or is it a plug and play?

what kind of car and what year motor? it depends on the OBD of car and motor but most you just have to do simple converting.

if your current engine has vtec on it then you can use that harness as long as its the same OBD1/2 as your swap.

Its the b18b1 and it's going into 92 dx. Should wiring even be necessary because the d15b7 that's in it is not vtec? Also, I plan on boosting so whats the best tranny to get with long gears?

you wont have to worry about wiring for the swap. You get the tranny with the longest gears already by getting the LS swap complete with LS tranny.
