You are right. B18b is integra ls motor. So no vtec. You don't need to do any wiring.

Later on if you do decide on going vtec, wether going b16, gsr or ls/v(which is installing vtec head eaither gsr or b16 on the ls block) then you would have to wire up the vetc and get yourself a vtec ecu. But best thing to do would be getting a vtec harness either from a93-95 ex.

i dont think i want to go vtec... like i hear and read that b18b's are legit motors to turbo? true false?

i hear that they are torque-ier then most b16s etc..
i like that i want the torque

Oohhh yes you wanna go vtec. And if you want the torque aswell then build an ls/vtec. It has the potential of a vtec motor does with the extra torque from the ls block.

why not just ls non vtec turboed lol
i also thought that ls/vtec plus boost was badddd

LS/VTEC built by someone that doesnt know what they are doing is bad. You can build anymore for anything. There are plenty of LS/V that have boost on them. Its just that the LS/VTEC motor isnt something people should just through out there for anyone. To get it to be reliable, and make the numbers everyone wants it takes knowledge and know how. The motor isnt for everyone.

If you want torque, i hate to say it, but get a v8. Hondas arent known for it.

The B18c would most likely be your best bet in the end. Its a great starter motor, make good power and decent torque for a 1.8. Not as much as the LS, but the B18c1 has vtec.

You will not need to do any extra wiring if you swap in a B18b though, its just a plug and play motor swap.

B18a1 -2nd gen integra small throttle body lots o vaccum hoses and its obd0

B18b1 94+ integra/3rd gen larger throttle body than a1, also has a bigger throttle body than d series cars.....and yea its obd1

im sure there are of coarse power differences but if I was you it would be a heck of alot easier swapping the B1 into your car than the A1

My dad is an ASE certified master mechanic for diesels, A/C, and he's working on his hydraulics certification now. He's been doing it for 25 years and has worked for 2 International Truck dealerships, had his own mobile diesel diagnosis and repair business and currently services Florida power and light's fleet. :thumb: diesel power

That $500 is most likely for just the longblock. You might still need to get the wiring, axles, ecu and tranny from somewhere else.

I would also suggest to get the GSR tranny to go along with that LS motor.

I hope it catches on in the US after the new TDI is (hopefully) a hit
