K guys quick question. I have an b18b1 head and all the internals for a b18b1 block but I don't actually have the block lol. A guy here offered me a b18a1 block for free and I was wondering should I just find a b18b1 block or take the free a1? Also, Isn't the A1 obd0? What would I need to make it work if its not plug and play? thanks guys as always

i believe only diff in the to motors are the b1 head has a little more aggresive cams .put that w/ the rite ecu nd u'll get 10 more hp .. u can use the a1 block w/ b1 head nd have no probs.

sounds like a good deal free block jus make sure its not stolen

one is obd1 and the other is obd0. if you are putting this in an EG get the b1. its a plug and play swap. Also the B1 comes with a hydro tranny. The b1 also has the right plugs to plug into your car.

Not all B18b1's are OBD1, I have a 01 Integra with a B18b1, Its OBD2.

90-91 B18A1 = OBD0
92-93 B18A1 = OBD1
94-95 B18B1 = OBD1
96-01 B18b1 = OBD2

it will still have a cable tranny. it will also make less power, though not my much. forgot about the 92-93 tegs...

For a complete plug and play grab a B18b1.
