My B18b thread

Well, I figured I would start this now. I just swapped a 95 B18b DOHC motor into my hatch. Currently Im rebuilding a head to swap onto it so it will hopefully run. Dont get any LS/Vtec ideas anyone, its just a newer B18B head. I just want to get this head on and the motor running so I can drive it again. I do have some plans for this motor if I can find all the parts I want.

Here are some pics of the motor as it sits now. I will get some of the head as I work on it.

Thats my Megan SS header. its was really cheap, and will get replaced with a SMSP or a Hy-tech when I go LS/vtec or B20/vtec.

b18b is a good motor i used to have it in my old hatch, 1st and 2nd gear are really strong motor pulls madd hard, but after that its ok not great i suggest u get a b16 tranny you will be happy with it.

I dont have a LS tranny. So I wont have to worry about the gearing. Today I will hopefully get some new pics of what I have already done. I put the new valve seals on and the springs and retainers. Starting to look like a head again.

Here is how the head looks now. I got all the retainers and keepers on. Thank you special tools!! It was a snap to get the keepers in. Did it by my self.

Looks great!!

Next time mark your cam caps to which cylinder they came off. Its good to put them back in the exact same spot they came off. :thumb:

Hate to break it to you, but they are marked from HONDA!!! Each one tells you intake or exhaust and which number it is down the line.
