My B18b thread

- Fri Jun 08, 2007 1:57 am #10247 Well, I figured I would start this now. I just swapped a 95 B18b DOHC motor into my hatch. Currently Im rebuilding a head to swap onto it so it will hopefully run. Dont get any LS/Vtec ideas anyone, its just a newer B18B head. I just want to get this head on and the motor running so I can drive it again. I do have some plans for this motor if I can find all the parts I want.

Here are some pics of the motor as it sits now. I will get some of the head as I work on it.

Thats my Megan SS header. its was really cheap, and will get replaced with a SMSP or a Hy-tech when I go LS/vtec or B20/vtec.

What is everything VTEC'd over there?? :lol:

Nice swap, I've actually considered dropping a LS into my wifes EK.

- Fri Jun 08, 2007 1:45 pm #10283 b18b is a good motor i used to have it in my old hatch, 1st and 2nd gear are really strong motor pulls madd hard, but after that its ok not great i suggest u get a b16 tranny you will be happy with it.

Yes, great suggestion!! :thumb: 3rd gear is soooooo long with an LS trans.

HELL YEAH IT IS!! but a b18b does pull pretty hard in an eg tho!! and for b18b either go ls-vtec or boost good for both :thumb: :D

- Fri Jun 08, 2007 5:56 pm #10351 I dont have a LS tranny. So I wont have to worry about the gearing. Today I will hopefully get some new pics of what I have already done. I put the new valve seals on and the springs and retainers. Starting to look like a head again.

Next time mark your cam caps to which cylinder they came off. Its good to put them back in the exact same spot they came off. :thumb:
