I haven't really seen alot of info specific to my case. I bought the car (92 dx) 6 month ago and it had a d16y7 in it with the b7 intake system. So someone has already converted the motor to obd1 I'd assume. Now I want to put this y8 head/intake manifold on and I'm wondering if there are going to be any specific issues relating to my swap that might not be in all the other writeups I've read.

fisrt the car is stock obd1 . and you would need to wire in a vtec and get a vtec ecu and dizzy.

you aren't telling me anything I don't already know. Yes the car is an obd1 chassis, but d16y7's were obd2. So someone has already done the footwork of converting an obd2 motor for use in an obd1 chassis. Have a p28 ECU and 92 civics are prewired for vtec up to the passenger shock tower.

lol, it's cool.
Right now I'm so close to fire up it's silly. I have two lines on the intake manifold I'm not sure what to do with (the smaller of the two right next to eachother on the main plenum) and the one that's vertical right behind the valve cover. Then there is the matter of my b7 TB had two "vaccuum" lines going to it that the y8 tb does not. I'm curious as to whether I can use my old TB or if the MAP sensor is needed by the ecu for vtec...? if I can use my old b7 it'd make things alot simpler. Then I gotta find my vtec wires on the tower and add fluids and I'm done under the hood (I think). Plug the ECU in and wire up the injectors. Guess it's more than I thought but not bad for my first days work at it.

This is the one right behind the valve cover
and this is the one on the plenum
I've decided to put the B7 TB back on to simplify those two vaccuum lines and the need to wire in a map sensor. Pretty sure wiring up the obd2 injectors is just a matter of matching wire colors.

gotta say that isnt a b7 intake manifold that looks very close to a Y8 and if you look at the mini me swap in the diy area on our homepage here i do beleive some of those need to be blocked off...(vaccum lines)....

well, I got everything plumbed but i'm throwing an IACV code and the car is undriveable.
I'm reading here:

and I'm not liking what I'm reading as EVERY other website has recommended the P28 ECU to run this Y8 head

Just put 2 caps on those 2 open vac lines. They are for things that your OBD1 car does not have.
So is your car set up to run an obd1 ecu or did the last owner use an obd2 to obd1 conversion harness? I would stick with OBD1. The only difference is you will have a few different sensors that are OBD2 that you can disreguard. (knock, crank fluctuation, secondary o2)
P28 is a good OBD1 ecu to run the y8 head
edit: read through the mini-me thread in the D-series section. You are doing the same swap that I did (99-00 y8 top end) except you're putting it on a y7 block instead of a d15b7 block.

Why are you using OBD2 injector clips? Why not just use OBD1 parts?
