#185 I'm a little hesitant to post her pictures since most of these cars are modded up. But, here she is!

After trying auto-x in my 1985 300ZX N/A Auto. and her 01 Accord EX Sedan Auto., we decided we needed a better car. We sold the Z and bought the Si earlier this summer.

The car was almost totally box stock. It had tint on all the glass except for the hatch, an unknown aftermarket muffler (only), and a CD player with a large woofer/amp/box. That's IT! Well, and it had the red "Si" badge, in place of the oem sticker. It still has the resonator and even had the ORIGINAL plug wires (dated 1993 clearly visible!)!

Mods so far:
K&N drop-in
MSD Supercondutor wires
ES Shift Stabilizer bushings (red...as if you could see them)
ES End Link bushings (red)
CRX Si Alloys (1st Gen)...saved about 15 pounds!
5mm Wheel Spacers
Switched to Red Line MTL in the tranny
Switched to Durablend in the crankcase
Removed the woofer/box/amp...saved 25 pounds!
Removed the cargo cover...I think that was maybe 10 pounds
Switched to synthetic brake fluid (and flushed the system!)
"Seafoam" intake treatment
"Lucas" fuel injector treatment

Planned mods:
Koni Yellows
Falken Azenis tires
Kumho V710's (auto-x only)
OEM Cat
Cat-Back Exhaust
Red Line in the crankcase
ES Sway Bar body mount bushings (on back order!)
Considering an oil catch can
Considering changing to silicon vacuum lines...color coordinated
Need to index the PLUGS!!!

Future Mods...when/if we move to STS:
HX wheels
Complete ES Bushing Kit
Reprogrammed ECU
Eibach Springs
Prolly several others, but this is over a year away.

We'll finish this season with about 10 events under our belts, with no serious mods to the car. Off-season we'll take most of the Stock allowances and run next year in HS.

Hope you like it!

#268 Your Si is so clean. Your engine bay is spotless! I looked at your home page link in your profile and that auto-x pic you had on there almost on 3 wheels is an awesome pic. You should add those pics to this thread :D

I had a set of those CRX rims too once, but sold them. They were cheap, but a lot heavier then the HX rims. Your car looks like it is brand new, not 13 yrs old... original paint?

THANKS!!! Ya, the HX's are very light, but I can't run them in Stock cuz they're .5" wider than OEM on my car. I want to run a full year in Stock (2007), then we'll probably bump up to STS for 2008.

Can you see all of the pics in the first thread? I have 6 posted, including three auto-x action shots that you were prolly talking about. I've had a problem seeing pics posted in threads is why I ask.

Ya, it's the original paint. There are a few dings here and there, but no accident evidence or history. You can't tell it in the pics, but the front and rear bumpers have faded. You can tell if you're standing next to the car.

Ya, the tricycling looks pretty kewl. It isn't really hard to do with original tired springs, original shocks, and the original 21mm FSB. I like the very first pic, too. See how far the LF tire is rolling over onto the sidewall?

These pics are more of how NOT to drive!!! LOL

Ya, great suggestion but that bumps me into a higher class (STS from H Stock). Generally, the higher the class, the more experienced the drivers...and FASTER. Getting waxed enough as it is.

Plus, STS allows all stock allowances (except r-comp. tires) PLUS STS class mods (like the RSB). I haven't done all the stock class mods yet, so if I added a RSB only, the car would be really under prepped.

The plan was to run a full year in HS for 07, doing most of the remaining allowances off-season. Then, bump on up STS for the next season. However, I am really considering bumping on up to STS for NEXT season. I think the car in stock class may be just a tad undersprung and have much too narrow wheels. STS allows me to change a NUMBER of things...including adding a RSB!!!

But, all that costs MONEY. :(
