#108820 so this morning i got in the 4dr and im bout to leave to go to work and im drivin the street and it starts to jerk real bad in 1st i thinkin this the clutch just acting up cuz its real worn down so i shift to second and on my way i go .... i give it some gas then i heard a pop and the car cuts off.. wtf :x

now it wont start

had a friend come by and check for spark ( oh while all this is goin on im 45 min late for work and the boss is callin my phone ) thers some spark at the plugs he say but from the cap thers spark ....

i didnt see ne obvious signs of ne thing majorly wrong like rods knockin or oil on the ground

ima do a search through the forum and see if i see any thing but if i can get some help or some ideas of wht to look for id really appreciate it :thumb:

#108828 it cranks but i get nutting .... but now when i think it was makin a weird noise when i was drivin it last night but it sounded like the intake i already got a distributor but i cant try it till i go back home

#108829 Well you could have both fuel and spark but i think there may be something wrong internally if you heard a pop may have toasted a piston or knocked a hole in the back of the block and im just speculateing here since pops are hard to find out when your not there and even with a hole in the block you may not see oil depending on where its positioned. at least we know the motor isnt seized id check your compression you may have also possibly lost a ring.....if oyu want to be really sure you didnt do anything internally bad id go out buy a cheap oil pan gasket and drop your pan and see if anything went kaplooski in the bottom end also check your timing belt. could of snaped causeing a pop of the valves....anywho id go about checking things that dont cost any money first unless you have your buddy there and he wants a beer or something thats ok i guess lol....but yea wait to drop the oil pan till youve checked compression and all that other stuff i mentioned....

#108831 i hope nuttin happend to the block i just put that in and i talked to the first owner of the block and it only has like 70,000 but still u never know i checked the belt and some minor stuff b4 i pulled it home hopefully the boss aint too mad at me and i can bring it up to the job and check it out now instead of latter when it starts to get cold i might just take the head off i have to any way cuz the oil jet has to get pulled out ne way ...

#109142 i tryed a differnt distributor and still nothing, if its not to cold ima take the head off .. i checked the timing and its good and the belt is good i dont have the gauge to do a compression test but i thinking it might be the head gasket.. i dunno if it makes a difference but i used a y7 gasket in stead of the z6.. i looked at the post on how to do a mini me buts its with a y8 head and a d15 bottom end ... i got a y7 bottom and a z6 head if ne one did this kinda mini me and has ne info for which gasket to use can yall let me know .... thanks in advance
