fat ass hahahahahahahahaha

ok ok jk....
if you want to be healthier and be more "tone" , then ok to be tone you need to lift wieghts but very little amounts with many reps... so for example:

5 sets of 100 at 60lbs

the bar weights i think 50 but some weight 40 but anyways w.e make w.e your lifting 60lbs

so lift 60lbs on the bench 100x for 5x take a 5 min break in btw and drink lots of water.

ive lifted as a hobbie for 3 yrs and ive learned alot form trainers and crap

if you wanna be tone hardly any weight but do alot of reps
if you wanna be more bulky use alot of weight but not many reps

as far as food wise ..... ill be truthful i do th same thing but i cant gain a lb

every bar I've lifted has been 45..weird

Also consider a set of free weights or individual barbells.
Lifting 2 separate weights at the same time vs 1 big bar seems to be more of a work out when working chest or shoulders or arms. I am guessing because you're also having to control the weight by not letting your arms flop out to the sides instead of just pushing straight up. I think it would build muscle over more area. It is definitely more of a work out as I can't lift as much using free weights as I can with a long bar.

edit: craigslist is a great place to get weights for cheap

I was prob low 130's senior yr in highschool, I grew 9" in those 4 yrs so I was a twig. I joined a gym after HS for a year and got close to 150 plus I worked stock so I was moving stuff all day.
I worked out once in a while while in college, rode bike etc
Graduated & worked in an office since and lost some of the muscle I had left.
I rode my bike to work sometimes which felt great and lifted occasionally but had to put my weights in storage for over a year and then got married & moved and never had time to lift after moving. I started to feel like I was getting a slight belly and losing strength, 6 pack was long gone lol.
So I started lifting again about a month and a half ago. I physically felt the best I have felt since I joined the gym after HS. I'm not tired as much any more during the day. I am lifting 5 days a week and sometimes drink protein shake.
So after 1 month, I weigh my self... I gained only 1 lb
I'm 6'1 and weigh 146 now.
I'm trying to hit 160 because I made a bet with my wife that If I weighed 160 lbs, I would be allowed to buy a 4 wheeler. 8)
But shit It's gonna take me a year and a half at this rate!

daaamn you people!! :x i can gain weight like crazy if i want to, i also get pretty damn strong and big in the mean time by lifting heavy and eating a lot but it's hard as shit for me to cut fat off me which i'm trying to do right now...

basically i eat like 6-8 times a day, like 200-400 cals a "meal" and goto the gym with a shit load of cardio. i joined fitday.com which is a free calorie watcher thing and especially if your bored can kill time :thumb:

but if your doing it the poor man's way, just eat less and go for a run at night or something when you get off work, ride a bike or run up some stairs, either way...once you join a gym look up some workouts and use those weights before you run

haha, i love that site, the ads are funny sometimes but it is slow most of the time.... i have done that a few times, climbed the Oregon State University stadium stairs, those are a good workout. but with the OT and the family, i can see there being like no time left in the day....got a misses at home? :D
