#139535 first of all, i'm running 5w-30 oil and i was wondering if anyone had an oil temp gauge in their car?

here is mine:

Image

i think that this is pretty hot: i'm crusing on the freeway @ ~3200rpm, 75 mph with a t3 turbo...when i was n/a it would stick at 210 no matter what, what do you guys run?

2nd Q: can you name that leak? i just replaced the Head Gasket 2 weeks after the initial build, also replaced the dizzy o-ring and rtv'd it a little bit...you can see that it runs down the tranny

what else carries oil up on the head? image to help out, i pointed to the spots where it tends to go, i have been holding oil so i'm stumped :?

#139564 your wood paneling is ugly. cover that up.

oil leak. you can't see where its coming from? wipe all areas down, valve cover, around the head, around the vtec solenoid and run the car and see where it comes out.

don't worry about the wood panel...it's temporary, i wanted to know what other people's oil temps run at?

i have wiped it down plenty of times, it keeps showing up, it's straight oil....i replaced the HG, dizzy oil ring, vtec gasket, and all intake mani gaskets including TB with OEM when i re-built. so i'm out of ideas...

You should put a little bit of Hondabond on those corners to help them seal.

i have had my VC off many times ... this last time i put a thin layer of RTV (grey) which is pretty much hondabond on the head/vc mating surface so unless it's coming up from the rear main (which is leaking) then i dunno :?

any other places on the head carry oil?

i'll look into that ... seems weird cause the dizzy is dry, i can't really track it down, but thanks :thumb:

#139789 have you wiped it all down, let the car run, and just watch.

yeah...it doesn't do it all the time, i have watched it at idle for quite a while and no dice, so it must happen while driving

#139872 rev it while your watching it.
