#141151 alright, so i recently went turbo, using the DSM 450cc injectors with the stock (replacement) seals. they were leaking for the last week or so, so today i took out the injectors and replaced the seals, both the bottom and top (rail side) o-rings. it reduced the smell a lot but not all the way and it's noticeable at idle with the fresh air button pushed on the HVAC controls. it's pretty annoying and i need to find the problem, i don't really think it smells like the exhaust :? .... but close?

so did i mess up again or is there a possibility of smell elsewhere? I'm running a full exhaust and no open DP, i do have a vented catch can in the corner where the stock intake box would be. is there a trick with the 450's?

thanks for any assistance.

#141159 check for leaks in your turbo setup, charge pipe etc, exhaust fumes leaking from your turbo setup could be a partial cause, maybe use a good oring grease on the injector seals, and make sure both surfaces are clean.

hmm, alright, i will double check all my charge pipes and stuff, i did re-tighten the DP last night but it wasn't loose. i actually did put some grease on the bottom butt seals to make it easier. maybe i'll have to try it again :?

no, i didn't eliminate the box, that's the one with the lines that go to the evap solenoid on the IM right? (and somewhere else, i can't remember). i highly doubt it's from my fuel pump install because i ran the walbro when i was N/A for about 2 weeks and it comes through the air vents when selected on fresh air. i don't mind the smell coming out the ass but not in the cabin, lol

the return line isn't leaking and i can't find any fuel actually anywhere on the IM or anywhere with the lines/filter/banjo bolt...so who knows, thanks!

#142144 Well you have a vented catch can.

If you take a shit in the sink, don't come and ask us what the smell is.

do you have a better idea other than a sealed unit with a slash cut in the exhaust? and the only reason i asked is because the smell was there BEFORE the catch can and the catch can is by the headlight.

as i stated before, i wanted to know if there was anything else i should look at and not to get dick responses.

thanks one dude, i will check that out :thumb:

#142436 Check the fuel filter for proper torque or if it's leaking fuel? It's not always obvious that it's leaking. It's ALSO right there next to the vent inlet.

Just saying...
