#142743 hey everyone, my name is Adam and i'm from san diego

i've ran into a heating problem with my ej1 d15b vtec turbo
i had a hole in the hose that goes from the bottum of the throttle body to the head, (hose that loops like an S) get you to the chase, i needed to replace the hose from my engine overheating, the side that was connected to the throttle body was simple to take out but the one on the head was/is a pain, i was not able to reach the clamp in any type of way, so i ended up leaving that clamp on the side on the head and cut the hose, put a new hose and was running fine till today, went to work and the hose came off and started smokin like no other.
not too happy bout the weak job i did but it was the best at the time, my question, does any one know what i can do to get the clamp off other than taking the intake manifold off, or maybe some one that has had same problem

need the help tia

#142758 the only thing i can think of is getting a pair of dikes and cutting the clamp off. Or taking the TB off, but you'll need a gasket.
hope this helps.

but really, there should be a way to remove the clamp with pliers if it was put on. maybe try from underneath the car?

#142768 if you can remove all of the hose by pulling, poking, burning :eh: etc.... you will give more slack for the clamp.

Agree or get any wrench that will grip around the hose and wiggle it left to right to break off any bonding it caused by coolant and heat.
