#158186 Take the ignition coil out of the dizzy and up to AutoZone and have them test it for resistance values.

If you know anyone with the same engine as yours, borrow their coil and ignition control module to put in your dizzy. Swap the coils first. Fire it up. If no change, swap them back and swap the ICMs. Fire it up. If it runs perfect, you're looking at your culprit.

If it's the crank angle sensor that's causing the rough running, then you need to replace the distributor case assembly. It's the only way to get a new crank angle sensor. I don't know how to check that sensor...but if you swap both the coil and the ICM and it still runs like shit, the crank angle sensor is probably a safe bet.

Dizzy's are sensitive on our old Honda's after 10+ years

They go bad all the time, buy a new one and try it and if its not that just return it.
