whats up guys and merry christmas, I have been collecting parts and getting ready to do a major build up of my hatch, and I finally got to pull it in my shop to start on her. So little by little I will be posting pics of parts and work I get done.
list of things I am doing
-ppg frost white inside and out
-15" gold slips
-blox purple lugs
-purple password fender washers
-gutting it
-wire tuck
-remove hvac
-remove radio and speakers
-built b20
-gold or purple lca's
I am having the shell media blasted then all new quarters, there gonna line everything up, then it will be sprayed ppg frost white inside and out.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!12/26/09 UPDATE New pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well finaly got the wife to let me go to the shop and work on the hatch so I took more pics of the process.
just some pics of the interior before the teardown
All the parts in the back actually belong to another hatch project that I am doing
got the rear seats out
starting on the quarter plastic
just a shot from the back
the quarters are actually in good shape, just the drivers side has a tiny hole so I want it all done to prevent any future rust
when I was taking the rear glass struts off I noticed that the buttons that go through the rear glass that the strut bolts to were loose and the metal was all distorted from supporting the weight of the glass, which made a gap and was leaking. I never thought to check these before when I have a leak, but now I will.
So since this car will be outside in the rain eventually while its being gutted I will need somthing to fill in the holes in the rear glass where the buttons used to be, and I didnt want to put tape on them cause the adhevise would eventually stick to the glass and I would probably end up messing up the rear defroster getting it off so I put a little piece of electircal tape on the inside and used my cordless hot glue gun and filled them in sealing them up.
This is the cordless hot glue gun I used, this thing is worth every penny, great tool, plus you can mess with the guys you work with and glue there stuff to there boxes, shit is hilarious.
some pics of the headliner out
takin the carpet out
Pretty much done
carpet is out
and it's just about done now, gotta start the dash and finish takin out the rear seat belts
just a pic of the autometer digital oil pressure gauge and pod my wife got me for christmas
She also got me a password jdm balanced shift knob and dc sports dual bend shortthrow shifter, I highly recomend it, super smooth short throws.
Another christmas present
A huge pile of shit on my car lol
Well thats about it for tonight, I am gonna go to the shop tomorrow and start the dash and all the window trim and what not, so I will update tomorrow.
