- Sat Jan 30, 2010 8:15 pm #172212 have a del sol with d16y7 motor where the air box/throttle body sits right on top of the intake manifold. need more clearance to fit a strut bar i got and dont want to buy a intake if i dont have to. was wondering if i just remove all the pipe for the air box and cut the top off the air box and just leave the rim of the top of the air-box so it still locks the filter down, if that would work? or if anyone knows where you can buy a intake especially for the y7 manifold setup.

- Sat Jan 30, 2010 9:06 pm #172216 i might suggest getting some of that colapsable piping and a civic with the tubes style intake air box. drill a hole in the air box for that sensor i keep seeing on 96+ cars and run that tubing to the intake manifold and clamp it down... or i mean it may be better if you just went ahead and got a d series tube style intake off of any d series motor tho preferably you should get the y8 one.....but a z6/b7 should work. and run the stock civics intake so it looks stock......

- Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:48 pm #172343 if you can find a y8/auto intake manifold and throttle body, they will be a direct bolt on with correct sensors. add an ebay short ram intake.
