- Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:46 am #179629 got a quick question. im buildin an ls vtec and waas wonderin if with a gsr head and pct type-r pistons (b16b pistons) would compression be too high to run 93 octane. zealautowerks says it will be at 14.35:1 but i really dont think it will be that high. if anyone can tell me please do thanks

14:3 is extremely high.

x2 supposedly compression is un affective after 15to1, maybe before that in a honda because of the dome on the piston disrupting the flame travel....

i have heard of it before just never heard anyone actually doing it... good to know a good tune makes all the difference
