d16z6 headbolt question

- Sun Mar 28, 2010 5:50 pm #184220 Hey guys, I'm new here and have a question for you. I just got a 92 hatch with a d15 block and d16z head. Now I've done a little research and familiarized myself with the mini me swaps and some of the honda engine codes so I'm not completely lost when I research and post but bear with me because I'm sure I'll still have some really dumb/obvious questions.

That being said, my question is just regarding headbolts used in the mini me swap. I'm replacing whatever headgasket and headstuds are in it now with a multi layer steel hg and arp headstuds. I am just about ready to order these: http://www.extremepsi.com/store/custome ... 555&page=1 but I just want to verify that these will work with the d15 block because it doesn't specify on extremepsi's website.

I read that a lot of people will use the arp's for a y8 headswap but still have to use 2 oem bolts for the back corners, I was hoping to avoid that. The car is boosted and I don't want to blow the headgasket again. If anyone can verify those headstuds or link me to a set that is designed for the d15 block and d16z head I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

i have heard that as well, but idk if any aftermarket company has a remidy for this issue or not :?

x2 with what teal said, arp is great to deal with, you may be able to buy a z6 kit and maybe get individual part numbers and buy just 2 of the y8 studs for the corners seprate, i used to help a guy at a machine shop and the arp master catalog is HUGE, and it has jus random sized and differnt thread studs, so it may be very possible they would have something like that, that would work :thumb: , you never know unless you ask them...

- Wed Mar 31, 2010 8:41 pm #184860 Called ARP today and told the rep my setup and he said without a doubt the headstuds I linked to in the previous post will fit the d15/d16z combo. I'm ordering them now, I'll post back when I get them and let you guys know if there are any fitment issues!
