- Fri Apr 09, 2010 1:33 pm #186583 probally yes, as long as the valves dont hit the pistons wich they shouldnt, you can also do r pisons on the ls rods... but itr/gsr rods are longer than ls rods.... not by much but a little bit, id recomend just putting itr or ctr pitons on the ls rods if your goin for a higher comp. ls.....

Its a compression tester and will tell you what different pistons will do in your engine.

You can put ITR Rods and Pistons in your LS, but the piston will go out of your the top of your block. W/ LS Rods and ITR Pistons you have a 11.12 Compression Ratio and the pistons stay in the block.

And you dont need vtec, Vtec is so you can get good fuel econemy and power, If you want power get put in good cams into your ls and attach a better transmission (b16 or gsr) and start putting vtec losers in their place.

thats what i was getting at, i figured that would happen with the ls stroke...

Mmm... be careful about saying stuff like this. We don't want to turn into D-series.org "VTEC is for emissions" LOL LOL. I totally get what you're saying. But I think it's more concise to say VTEC is a standard cam and a racing cam combined into one. Great for a daily driver, but if it's a dedicated race car, you don't care about idle quality or emissions so you can just eliminate VTEC and install the racing cam. Same thing as being in VTEC permanently.
