#207386 Hey guys,

Im new here and need some help with my engine build.

I have a D16z6 head skimmed 0.6mm and a d16a7 block with d16a7 head gasket

the block is standard but i have pm3 pistons installed. head is also standard besides skim.

The compression i get on here : http://www.zealautowerks.com/dseries.html
is 12.1. Is this reliable? its my daily - also will i have clearance issues?? Im very worried about this. I take it i wont be able to install a bigger cam now? :(

I am aware that the pm3 pistons protrude out the block.

Has any1 got a similar setup?

#207402 12:1 is reliable but an excellent tune will be essential. Also you will need high octane fuel, 93 octane at the minimum. (That is 93 octane here in the U.S., I know some countries rate their octane higher or lower than we do)

I don't know about the clearance... D series motors are interference motors as-is, so if the timing belt were to break/slip your valves would get destroyed.
When you're building the motor, check the clearances with clay to be safe :thumb:

Ive got the engine at a machinist, he says he will check all the clearance for me..

we get 95 octane so ill run that.
