They found a mass the size of an apple in her colon pushing on her appendix. Doctor said it's most likely cancer. So we are heading out there in a couple days. Might be able to hang out with a few people too..we'll see

- Fri Feb 04, 2011 3:06 pm #237052 Thanks..I hope so too. I talked to her yesterday and she said if she can make it through a quadruple bypass and all this other stuff, that she can make it through this. She's like a brick.

No one in my family knows I'm coming out to see them. And I'm so excited the bf is coming with me. We've been talking about getting married eventually and my parents aren't too keen on it because they don't really know him. The last time he was out there was when he met them and we were only really there for two days. Not quite long enough to get to know someone. So this will be a good time to get to know my parents and meet the rest of my family.

- Fri Feb 04, 2011 3:20 pm #237054 Yeah, I know they don't hate him..it's just they aren't around him enough to get an opinion of him..but he's FOR SURE better than the last few guys I've dated lol.

My dad made me feel sad though cause he's like "Well, if you guys have kids I pretty much won't know my grandkids or get to bond with them since you guys live in TX". I told him we'd be able to come visit and stuff cause I mean, I get 4 weeks of vacation (all at once but I can't take more than 2 weeks at a time) and so we'd be able to visit..but I get what he means.

- Fri Feb 04, 2011 3:33 pm #237059 I can understand with you and your father I have 2 kids and I’m lucky that I have my mom around to help out cause me and my wife both work full time and having that support is very important. My father live in FL and he can only see my kids the most twice a year and they really don’t know him you just need to make sure you include them as much as possible with a lot of pics and videos for them so they aren’t missing too much but again it is hard trying to pull it all off just remember no one wants’ to feel left out you know

Little update on my grandma.... She went into the hospital at 9am and had surgery at 11am. I got to see her before she went in but I had to wear a mask because for the last two days I've been running a slight fever..Ya, go figure, I come out here and THEN get sick :-/. Anyway, we sat around in the hospital till about 4:30 and then we were able to go in a see her. She's doing good. They had to take half of her colon and her appendix out due to the mass. They have to run some tests and see if the cancer is going to be back or not and then they'll know whether or not she'll have to have chemo*
