d16y8 on my hatchy

and i also got a p2p ecu, is that even any good?

also, it makes a weird noise, when im holding in the clutch
it stops. when clutch is out noise continues. also makes the
noise when i gas it on first. after first noise stops??

Holding in the clutch stops the noise because you are taking "torque" off the input shaft. It is more noticeable in first gear, but over time will become evident in the other gears too.

oh i see, so what can i do to fix that?

You'll have to take out the tranmission to replace the release bearing. Once the tranny is out it takes 2 mins to replace. Then you put the transmission back in and you're done.

So you may want to consider replacing the clutch while the tranny is out, depending on how old yours is, since most of the labor is removing the tranny.

Also dont forget to inspect the flywheel and pilot bearing.

If it is the input shaft bearing, you'll have to take the tranny casing apart to replace it I believe.

A p2p ecu is OBD2 so it won't be of any use for our 92-95 civics.

my clutch is like a month old, just put it in. i was thinking they didnt put it on right. but thanks man, now i know what to check for that noise.

so i should go with a p28 ecu?

sometimes people try to save $20 by not replacing the release bearing when doing the clutch.
Release bearing & pilot bearing should always be done while replacing the clutch/flywheel

A P28 will work :thumb:
