#262775 I recently did a valve clearance on my my civic. I have a 1995 civic eg. Stock 1.5 Non-Vtec D15B

While I was doing it I noticed something weird. When the cam was pointing straight up indicating cylinder 1, at TDC on the compression stroke the Number one valve was not completely at rest I had to rotate it a bit further for it to be at rest

What does this mean:?

Timing is off? Nothing? lol Or something else.

And consequently each consecutive valve seemed to be a bit off too. Im just starting so Im a noob. Lol

Any advice is appreciated. :thumb:

#263395 TDC indicates piston position, not valve position. If the valves opened that way, the car would run horribly if at all. The valves open early, stay open late, and the intake and exhaust timing overlaps. Go figure.
